    Dr. O John Ma continues to work actively in the healthcare field despite resigning from full-time practice as an emergency physician. In addition to overseeing a thriving volunteer life and other medical posts, he maintains a laser-like focus on healthcare innovations and best practices.

     

    Dr. John Ma is a healthcare consultant who helps large hospitals with patient safety and quality enhancement. He is a journalist as well.

     

    Dr. John Ma enrolled in the University of Colorado at Boulder for his undergraduate studies in 1981. Between 1981 and 1986, he earned a bachelor of arts degree. As a part of the university's junior year abroad scholarship program, a student at Lancaster University in Lancaster, England, spent a year overseas. He studied for his M.D. from 1986 to 1990 at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., following his graduation.

     

    Beginning with a preliminary internal medicine internship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., from 1990 to 1991, my postgraduate study was highly varied. John Ma began his emergency medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1991, and from 1993 to 1994, he was the program's Chief Resident.

     

    Dr. O John Ma's medical knowledge allowed him access to numerous new managerial chances throughout his career. Between 2001 and 2012, management-related training was finished in various stages.

     

    Lean leader training, hospital department heads, and physicians in management were among the other courses. John Ma completed training for new and upcoming chairpersons and a medical leadership academy, earning a credential in executive MBA fundamentals.

     

    Over three decades, John Ma's medical career included several research opportunities, studies, and improvements in medical team leadership at various hospitals. His first position was as an attending staff member at Chapel Hill's University of North Carolina Hospitals. John Ma joined Carolina Air Care right away as the medical director. He worked as a resident research director and the director of emergency ultrasonography in the Department of Emergency Medicine for a year.

     

    John Ma relocated to the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine in 1997. He then joined the Truman Medical Center's attending staff, where he would work for eight years and advance through the ranks. He started as the vice-chair for academic advancement in 2000 after serving as the research director for the Department of Emergency Medicine in year one. He was promoted to a full vice-chair position in the emergency medicine division in 2002. Dr. John Ma was named Emergency Medicine Chief and Chair of the Department in 2006.

     

    Dr. O John Ma began his position as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Chief of Emergency Medical Services at Oregon Health & Science University in 2007.
